ICT Art Connect Study
In frame of the Digital Agenda the European Commission presented a special study on how art is an essential part of research and innovation processes in the field of information and communication technologies. Art is according to the European Commission a catalyst that helps converse science and technologies into products or solutions. Through the usage of information and communication technologies, the artists are able to create new prototype solutions or new business, social or economic models. Therefore the European Commission plans to launch a special programme called STARTS (Science, Technology and the Arts), to foster innovations through the collaboration of artists and technologists/scientists.
